So, I will admit. I never understood the whole juicing thing ever since one Christmas I was gifted an expensive Breville Juicer. I was so excited. I couldn’t wait to start juicing and get healthy.
After a trip to local produce stand, I was ready. And I began creating my first health elixir. After a little effort I had a great glass of bright vibrant juice. But I also had a large pile of waste that my juicer rejected from my veggies and fruits. How could there be so much waste???
And really all I was getting to drink was a sugary, soupy glass. And that was when I wondered, “Is juicing really good for me?” When you juice a fruit, you remove the healthy fiber contained. You are basically drinking sugar water with some vitamins. With a simple google search you can find recipes to put your waste to work but why separate it in the first place?
Don’t get me wrong. I realize for many people juicing is life and there are some benefits but for me I have long giving up juicing at home. If I am going to turn to sippable nutrition, I opt for whole fruit blending. I will fill my Blendtec blender with all sorts of goodies, focusing on more vegetables than fruit and very little waste. The combinations are endless.
Recently I have come across something that beats out juicing and blending….. extracts. Watch a informercial for the bullet blender and you will quickly learn about the benefits of nutrition extraction. Nutrition extraction is the process of breaking foods down to the point where they are essentially predigested, making it much easier for the body to absorb the wealth of nutrition locked inside of your favorite fruits and vegetables.
So for a few years now, our Bullet Blender and our Blendtec can be found working away on a daily basis. It it the best go to nutrition for our whole family. But without me constantly stocking the kitchen with a variety of ingredients, our blending can become a little dull and not pack the same nutritional punch “as-seen-on-tv.”
About a year ago, I was introduced to a whole different type of nutritional extract called Seven+. And this magic bottle has changed how I look at “juice”. Not only have I totally skipped the cold and flu season, I am sleeping better, and inflammation in my joints seems to have lessened. My girls take a shot a day in lieu of a vitamin (don’t get me started on those!) and they have also gotten through the cold season without a sniffle. It is easy to keep stocked and we have even began blending into drinks.
What makes it different is that uses extracts, not not juices, from the most nutrient-dense superfruits. Extracts come from the leaves, roots, flowers, and other various parts of the plant. Combined together and they give you a full spectrum of vitamins, minerals, omegas, and phytonutrients. Superfruits like acai, goji, noni, gac, fucoidan and much more are used to make extract that not only taste amazing but are nutrient dense. Just one shot of juice at 15 calories delivers more nutrition then found in anything that I can blend at home.
